 About Us

We moved to Enumclaw Washington in 1994 and started with our first Friesian filly in 1995. Fairly soon after we bought Jinke Z,  I found   out how addictive this breed can be. A year later, we bought Jinke's half sister Oantsje Z and this is how it all began...

Soon there were more. We bought some, we sold some and currently own 16 (gulp!) Friesians. Our 6 mares are the foundation of our herd.   Some of our mares are bred back for next year.

My husband Jack and I are both working in an entirely different field. We work for a Tunnel Boring Machine Manufacturer which has absolutely nothing to do with horses other than that it is our bread and butter (and hay of course for the horses...).

While I grew up with horses and have always been around them since early childhood, my husband Jack had no clue about them until we moved out to our ranch in Enumclaw. We started with a couple of Quarter Horses and then slowly shifted over to the Friesians.

Our old Quarter Horse Terra passed away peacefully last year. She died at the age of 37.  Terra was a grade Palomino mare with lots of attitude and beauty. She stuck out like a sore thumb in midst the black herd. She picked her day though at the end of August 2007. It was warm and sunny. The grass was lush and she decided that it was a perfect day to move on. We still miss her and often remember the funny stories about her.

As for our Friesians - we started selling the offspring of our Friesian mares in 2004. It was and still is one of the hardest things for us. We are extremely selective when it comes to the future homes of our horses. One of the things I tell all the potential buyers is that by buying a horse from us - we automatically become the famous In-Laws! Very supportive and will help answer questions, which may arise when it comes to breeding or training, but true to my German heritage, I will also "volunteer" information or point out things, which I am not happy about. The future of the horses we breed and sell will always continue to be our responsibility!

Having said that, we am also thrilled to see how much the horses are being loved by their new owners. This is one of the greatest rewards for us! We love the Friesian Breed and if someone is on the search for a Friesian, we will be more than happy to refer the person to reputable breeders! So please, don't hesitate to contact us.
